Brangie's sudden appearance was part of thier visit to the Middle East. They were checking on the status of the Iraqi refugees in Syria. Angelina who is a goodwill ambassador for the UNHCR, visited Amman a few years ago and in particular "Wild Jordan Cafe" where my then 16 year old nephew served her coffee and water.
It is nice to see celeberities working for Human causes, Pitt and Jolie are not the only one, but do you think famous people like them can make a difference, would like to hear your opinion?

Thanks for sharing the photos, I think they do can help, makes us people who are not famous realize we can give a little bit time or money which when done by many other persons is noticeable and makes a difference may be for a person or a family but at least someone was benefited. Actors have a lot of exposure so it is good they use it to help others

As celebrities go, I like them pretty well as they understand that the press follows them everywhere, so they often go to places that need attention: Brad Pitt even said that he often goes to Africa so that the world can see what a mess it is while they are taking shots of him walking with whomever. Brad Pitt has emerged as a man with a great social conscience, endorsing marriage rights for gays, public health care, helping after Hurricane Katrina. Angelina's record speaks for itself.
I think it depends on the celebrity. The ones who appear dumb as dirt won't have much influence, but then they probably won't be all that concerned with anything other than their 15 minutes. The narcisstic ones like Madonna will appear as players who will do anything to stay in the limelight.
I never needed Brad and Angelina to make me aware of how fucked up this world is. But I'm glad they are trying to make a difference.
i think it's funny when people try to make brad out to be some major activist. what was he doing before the media called him a cheater? not nearly as much as he does now. Jolie has been a goodwill Ambassador/activst for almost 10 years now. She is the real deal and maybe she influenced him to do good but i don't trust him. anyway, her baby looks just like her. pretty.

Brangelina are just players, they're not the real deal. For them, it's all about publicity and not much else. People think they're all that because they have great publicists. They're highly overrated but for the masses who seem to need a human "god" I guess they'll do fine.

When I am filthy, obnoxiously rich, I will seek to do good in much quieter, less self-aggrandizing ways than Brangelina do. I think the true mark of an altruistic, do-gooding activist is to do good works silently, in secret, avoiding attention.
#19 tell that to Bill Gates and his billion dollar foundation with Warren Buffett. Gates does press all the time. This couple has the right to take their kids out for ice cream. They have no publicist. Marvin you need to read about Angelina's role with the UNHCR cause your ignorance is not bliss.

Aren't they such cutie-pies! I love the twins, who were born on my birthday, of course years later! I want them as my kids! If I get kids that cute and loving, I will be SO happy! LOVE YOU BRANGELINA AND BABIES!

i really like that mega stars like jolie and pitt make an effort to interact with people of different backgrounds and cultures around the world. most hollywood stars are content to stay secluded in their million dollar mansions.
i think that celebrities can bring attention to critical and dire situations around the world and give a voice to those who are being ignored and unheard. i do think they can make a little bit of a difference emotionally, financially and politically.
what's funnier is how this post got so many comments compared to many of your political posts.

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the pictures, since they were absolutely free unlike what the media does! It is nice to see celebrities being spontaneous especialy in Jordan while also putting the effort to bring to the world attention to problems like the Iraqi refugees. I would also like to see them visit the 4 Million Palestinian refugees in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Israel.
