Snow Blizzard

Almost a year ago around this time, a snow blizzard hit the Middle East, including Jordan, Palestine & Israel. It brought happiness and change for a few days. I wish things cool down right now and it snows when we need it the most in these tough times!

First song: By Fairuz, A very famous Christian Arab

Ali, the last things Gazans need right now is a snow blizzard....unlike you and me, sitting in the comfort of our roofed houses with windows shut while enjoying the warmth of either central heating or a souba, Gazans-- if lucky to have survived the continuous bombardment of Israeli missiles, in addition to their houses not being totally obliterated by a bomb-- have to keep the doors and windows open so that their houses wont shatter into rubbles, while another nearby house gets the strike. And yet, even if having a bit of luck living in a "safe" (though i doubt that any spot in Gaza can be described as such)location where they can shut their windows and doors, they have no power and rely on generators they turn on once throughout the day to last as long as possible.
A stinging cold snow blizzard will only bring additional misery.

I love this video.Ali.Thanks for sharing it.May the violence stop and may lasting peace come to Israel. All they need is love, is what the Beatles sung about so many years ago,it still sounds like music to my sensitive ears. It's amazing how the relentless violence lingers on in the world. Why can't people live together in harmony like we do here in my neck of the woods in the south. My neighbors are African-Americans,Native-Indian-African-Americans,white, even a Scandinavian,Arabians and Latin Americans.
And we all get along famously. We have freedom because we choose to love one another. So drink a toast will you to my fellow citizens in my city of residence. But,most of all drink a toast to GOD,HE is behind the love we have for one another.

"Let it snow" is such a romantic song.Don't you agree,Ali?

Snow is unheard of here LOL! But secratea is right, a blizzard is a blow to Gaza supplies now

Secratea, thanks for checking my blog, you have a good one as well. Israel threw warning papers to people in Rafah to flee their homes? I was wondering where can they run? There are no shelters, no safe schools, mosques, churchs, Hospitals. The sea is blocked, the borders are closed, and the air is closed, Irsael simply told them today, we are coming to kill you!! To be honest I pray every day that the weather warms up and it never rains, because I cant imagine Gaza kids will handle the freezing cold we currently have.

Krystal, please dont forget that not only Israelis deserve peace but Palestinians as well who have been under occupation for 60 years now. And yes I love "Let is snow" ;))

KJ, well you have snow slopes at the Eimrates mall, which I didnt see yet, maybe you should take me there when I visit ;)

Yes, Ali, I just read of those leaflets. Kind of them to ask them to leave while they bomb their city, yet they won't let in humanitarian aid. It would be amusing if it weren't so awful. They boast of killing one Hamas commander--how many civilians died before they got to that man?

This is the part I can't let go, even when I debate and agree with people that Hamas is bad news--the policies it embraces have hurt Gazans, and the more I read about them, the more I see how caught between the extremes the civilians were. If Israel wants Hamas, then fine, go fight them as they are ready to fight back, but if they care about the civilians, they will open the gates and provide shelter for the civilians--Egypt, who is so prevelant in the "cease fire process" could do the same; it is not hard; we did it for survivors of Hurricane Katrina. The people of Gaza have places to go; it's just that no one will let them leave--shame on the hypocrites--let the innocents live.
